The Beat Drop - Newsletter Vol. 9 January 2026 this month... Teacher’s Talk: New Year & YOU January Events Yoga at Home - Part 4 - Manifest with Meditation 🙏🏼 Welcome Hot Mat Pilates Peru - Here WE COME! Yoga Teacher Training Personal Experience Keep reading for our Scavenger Hunt New Year & You We all approach a new calendar year differently. Our teachers share what they do when asked: Do you have resolutions? How do you goal set? What about you? How do you goal set or approach a new year? Respond to this scavenger hunt question for a prize. Nasreen’s Insight “Instead of looking at the start of the year as the only time to make change, I plan intentions throughout the year. A LOT can change in a year, so being able to flow with change and plan a new intention for the coming weeks or months is tremendously easier than the all or nothing approach.” Pang’s Insight “Make a list, stick it somewhere that is visible to me everyday. And around that goal, I would often write positive affirmations over time to keep me on track to ensure that my goal is within reach/track.”
Jo’s Insight “This year asked for resilience and reflection. In 2026, I’m committing to a more purposeful life—one rooted in emotional growth, spiritual connection, and compassion for myself.” Ashley’s Insight “I don’t really do resolutions but I do like to write down a few intentions for the year and put them in a little bowl. Whenever I feel like I need to I pull one out and let the universe help me decide what to focus on!” Jean’s Insight “My trajectory in the new year....I'm changing my teaching patterns up and also movement and nutrition to healthy aging. Adding regular walking and two days of strength training. For my love and self I need more regular practice of yoga. I pledge to finish my homework for Julianna LaRochelle 300 hour and graduate. I want to find a place for me at HOR. I'm going to try to get my son in med school to start a group yoga for brain health med students at HOR.”

Yoga Teacher Training Personal Experience Sharing a personal account from a student currently in our 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training: “I’ve most enjoyed learning the foundations and philosophy of yoga before fully stepping into the asanas. Understanding how to thoughtfully structure a sequence — from movement and imagery to breath and meditation — has deepened my appreciation for yoga and for teachers. The training has also had a powerful impact on my personal practice, especially off the mat, as the reflections and discussions continue to shape how I move through daily life. One of the biggest surprises has been learning about the connection between sound and the chakras, which has sparked my creativity as a musician and inspired me to explore weaving music and Hawaiian culture into my future yoga offerings.” Does this sound like something you would like to explore? Registration is open for our next 200 hour yoga teacher training that starts in March. The commitment? Only 1 weekend a month for 6 months. Then, you’ll be a certified 200 hour yoga teacher. You can take what you learn with you into how you lead your life, you don’t necessarily have to do this to teach yoga. Ready? Follow the link below to sign up and get $500 off with our early bird.
