Keep reading for our Scavenger Hunt* WE LOVE YOU and will miss you, Pang ❤️ Teachers Talk ukha - the Sanskrit word for pleasure. This month, we asked our teachers “what makes you feel good?” It’s a combination of self-care to holistic balance, our teachers weighed in. What makes you feel good?* Liza What makes me feel good is simple: moving my body and being outside with my dog and Husband. Where I can breathe and feel present. There’s something about fresh air, sunlight, and the rhythm of movement that quiets everything else and brings me back to myself. Even going on a simple walk. Yoga is one way those things can come together, it’s not just exercise, it’s a reset. It gives me space to let go of stress, reconnect with how I feel, and leave a little more grounded than I started. Finding gratitude on and off my mat☀️

Amy Feel-good nutrition, to me, is about choosing foods that support your energy, your skin, and your nervous system without overcomplicating it. Plant-based meals are rich in fiber, antioxidants, and minerals that help with everything from digestion to a lit-from-within glow. One of my staples is a simple protein chia pudding that’s easy, nourishing, and keeps me feeling full. I mix 2 tablespoons chia seeds with 3/4 cup unsweetened almond or soy milk, 1 scoop of vanilla plant protein (I love OM protein) a dash of cinnamon, and a little maple syrup or vanilla extract for sweetness. Let it sit (or overnight is best), then top with berries, a spoon of peanut or almond butter, and/or coconut flakes depending on what your body is craving. It’s the kind of breakfast or snack that supports stable blood sugar, which shows up in more balanced energy and calmer skin. When you start building meals like this (simple, intentional, and nutrient-dense) you’ll notice your body responds in a really positive, steady way.

Belonging at House of RhythOM When we first envisioned the foundation of House of RhythOM, we knew it had to be more than just a place to practice movement. We wanted to build a sanctuary. In a world that often feels fast-paced and disconnected, our vision was to create a home where every individual could step onto their mat, tune into the rhythm of their own breath, and feel an undeniable sense of grounding. At the very core of our studio are three steady pillars: Acceptance, Connection, and Belonging. Acceptance means arriving exactly as you are. There is no expectation to perform, no standard to meet—just a space to honor your mind, your body, and your personal journey in this moment. Connection is the magic that happens when we flow together. It’s the shared energy in the room, the collective heartbeat of a class, and the deep relationship we cultivate with our inner selves through rhythm and mindfulness. Belonging is the ultimate destination. It is the deep, comforting realization that you are an essential part of this collective fabric. You are seen, you are valued, and you are home. Because these values form the baseline of everything we do, we believe our responsibility to cultivate them doesn't stop at our studio doors. True community extends outward into our local neighborhood, lifting up those who need it most.

Thrive Youth Center It is this exact shared heartbeat that has led us to a deeply meaningful partnership with Thrive Youth Center. Based right here in San Antonio, Thrive Youth Center is an incredible non-profit organization dedicated to supporting a heavily marginalized and vulnerable part of our community. Their mission is to provide LGBTQ+ young adults experiencing homelessness with a safe, affirming, and supportive environment. For so many of these youth, the world has denied them the basic human needs of acceptance and belonging due to family rejection or hardship. Thrive steps in to change that narrative. They are far more than just an emergency shelter; they offer rapid rehousing, dedicated case management, mental health support, and life skills assistance. They provide a vital sanctuary where young adults can heal from trauma, celebrate their true identities, and gain the resources they need to flourish and build independent futures. Just as we strive to make House of RhythOM a safe harbor for your mind and body, Thrive Youth Center creates a literal and emotional safe harbor for youth who deserve to be celebrated for exactly who they are. We are incredibly honored to partner with Thrive, aligning our collective energy to support their mission of empowerment and equity. Join us for PRIDE month and make a donation to Thrive. For the month of June, every dollar donated for our donation based classes will be matched and donated to Thrive Youth Center. Thank you for being the heartbeat of our studio, and for helping us extend our rhythm of love, acceptance, and connection far beyond the mat.
